Preview of Fanatics Premier Auction · October 2026
A Charizard Leads a Pokémon Surge Alongside Ohtani and Flagg 1/1s
Fanatics’ October Premier Auction debuts with some similarities to prior Premier Auctions, and some notable differences. One of the most unique elements of this auction is the concentration of Pokémon cards. Of the 523 lots, 93 are Pokémon (18% of the auction). This is a much higher percentage than the 2-6% representation of Pokémon across 2026 Premiers. Leading the Pokémon surge is a 1999 Base Set Shadowless 1st Edition Charizard in PSA 10.
The rest of the Premier Auction follows a more familiar script. Basketball again makes up about half the auction with 258 lots, and Michael Jordan is - like every Premier Auction in 2026 - the most-represented player, on 69 lots.
A Shohei Ohtani Logoman patch auto 1/1 was the top-selling card in the March, April and August Premiers. He may claim the October crown with another Logoman patch auto 1/1, plus a dual Ohtani-Judge Logoman, alongside a Cooper Flagg Superfractor rookie auto.

Cards Up Close

Lot 49
Michael Jordan
2007-08 Upper Deck Black Framed Autographs White 1/1, PSA 6, Auto 8
Upper Deck's high-end Black brand was only in its second year when this one-of-one was made. Jordan signed it on-card in silver ink, and the autograph grades an 8. UD Black is known for dark borders that chip easily, which helps explain the PSA 6. The card has no sale on record.

Lot 3
Charizard
1999 Pokémon Base Set Shadowless 1st Edition Holo, PSA 10
Mitsuhiro Arita's Charizard in the version collectors rank highest: the shadowless border, deeper colors than the later Unlimited print, and the 1st Edition stamp. Of 54 verified PSA 10 sales, the three most recent were $462,500 at Heritage on Jun 26, $579,000 at Alt on Jun 4 and $504,000 at Fanatics Premier on May 22. A PSA 9 sold for $78,000 on Sep 30.

Lot 23
Tom Brady
2025 Topps Chrome Legends Superfractor Auto 1/1, PSA 7, Auto 10
Panini held the NFL card license from 2015 until this spring, which left Topps Chrome autographs of Brady in an NFL uniform scarce. Fanatics' lot notes describe this as the first and only NFL-licensed Topps Chrome Superfractor autograph of Brady. It shows him as a Buccaneer, with an on-card signature graded 10. No sale on record.

Lot 52
Shohei Ohtani
2018 Topps Now Road to Opening Day Gold rookie auto 1/1, PSA 10
One of the first Ohtani autographs available after he joined the Angels, from team sets Topps sold for $399.99 each. Base versions were numbered to 99; the Gold is the one-of-one. A spring-training photo and his early, more detailed signature set it apart from later Ohtani autographs. It last sold on Jun 8, 2024, at Goldin, for $22,021.

Lot 155
Lionel Messi
2025 Panini Prizm FIFA Club World Cup Kaboom! Green 1/1, PSA 8
Kaboom! began in 2013 as a basketball insert drawn in comic-book style by illustrator Gyula Nemeth, and it has since spread to other sports. In the 2025 Club World Cup release it was a case hit, and the Green parallel is a one-of-one. This exact card sold at Fanatics Premier on Dec 19, 2025, for $192,000, so it is back on the block about ten months later.

Lot 288
LeBron James
2018-19 Panini Flawless Diamond Gems Platinum 1/1, BGS 9.5
From LeBron's first season as a Laker, this is the Platinum one-of-one, the rarest of four parallels of his Flawless base card, with a real diamond set into it. Beckett graded it 9.5, with 9.5 subgrades for centering, corners and edges. No sale on record.

Lot 202
Mickey Mantle
1951 Bowman rookie #253, PSA 3.5
Topps had no license for Mantle until 1952, which makes this Bowman the only card from his rookie season. The three most recent PSA 3.5 sales were $38,000 at REA on Sep 28, $30,000 on Fanatics Buy Now on Sep 11 and $28,000 at REA on Aug 15. One grade either side, a PSA 4 brought $38,525 on Aug 16 and a PSA 3 sold for $31,170.75 on Oct 11.

Lot 73
Macklin Celebrini
2024-25 Upper Deck The Cup Gold Foil rookie patch auto /24
As with nearly every hockey star of the past two decades, Celebrini's most sought-after rookie card is The Cup rookie patch autograph. The 2024 first overall pick's base version is numbered to 99; this Gold Foil parallel is /24, with an on-card signature and a three-color jersey patch, and it came from the pack already encased by Upper Deck. Other copies sold for $66,000 at Fanatics Premier on Aug 28, $78,000 there on Jul 24 and $73,200 at Goldin on Jul 12.
